Jalen Lindsey's top nine schools

By Joe Kaiser

Coveted small forward Jalen Lindsey (Franklin, Tenn./Christ Presbyterian Academy), ESPN's No. 14 recruit in the class of 2014, has narrowed down his list of schools to nine.

Dave Telep of ESPN's Recruiting Nation writes today that the 6-foot-7, 180-pound standout is now focused on the following schools: Florida, Louisville, Providence, Tennessee, NC State, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Auburn and Mississippi State. All have offered a scholarship.

If there's a school that may have the advantage here, it might be Providence. Lindsey's father Walter Lindsey tells Telep that the Friars have worked hard in their recruitment of his son. "Ed Cooley from Providence," he said. "No one has recruited him harder than Providence. I’m from that area. When they saw him play last summer they fell in love with him and they didn’t know I’m from Providence. Cooley has a master plan that he thinks Jalen will fit in nicely."

Lindsey has been to Louisville, Providence, Tennessee and Vanderbilt unofficially, and Telep writes that Florida is likely to get the next visit.

Here's more on Lindsey from Recruiting Nation.

2014 SF Jalen Lindsey
"Jalen is another smooth operator with freakish athletic ability. He excels on the break where he is a highlight waiting to happen. He has great size and length already for a wing. He has a very good skill set and very limited wasted motion on the court. Jalen is an excellent athlete and pulled off one of the best dunks in camp (Super Soph Camp) where he took off outside of the lane for a monster flush. He is a solid shooter with range to 20 feet. Lindsey is athletic enough to defend both wings positions as well."
