Rambis in the running for USC job?

By Joe Kaiser

Ric Bucher of CSN Bay Area and 95.7 The Game reported late Monday that Kurt Rambis is expected to be in the mix to replace Kevin O'Neill as the USC men's basketball coach.

"... No word on the level of interest the Trojans might have, but on the mere face of it Rambis would appear to be a very attractive candidate. It also would allow him to maintain his base in L.A., which he never completely abandoned, even during his stint as head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves."

Other names we believe could become candidates include Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins (who has Los Angeles ties), Kerry Keating at Santa Clara, Leon Rice at Boise State, and Dan Monson at Long Beach State. The latter three would have to strongly consider a move to the bigger Pac-12 Conference if the opportunity came along.
