At 17-1, Creighton already has some quality wins to its name this season. The victory over Wisconsin on Nov. 23 might be the biggest so far, and the follow-up win over Arizona State the next day was solid as well. The Bluejays' most important matchup of the season, however, could be looming this afternoon.
That's when Doug McDermott and his teammates visit Wichita State. The Shockers are 16-2 and, while not currently ranked, appear to be the only real threat to Creighton in the Missouri Valley Conference at the moment. Head coach Greg McDermott has his team clicking at the moment, coming in at No. 12 in the AP Top 25 and ranking in the same spot in Joe Lunardi's most recent Top 100 list. A road win today would further strengthen the Jays' resume for March and give them a stranglehold on the conference.
