2014 forward Cunningham a hidden gem?

By Nic Reiner

Josh Cunningham (Chicago/Morgan Park) has been receiving increased interest of late and the class of 2014 power forward shows tremendous upside. The 6-foot-6, 195 pound Cunningham is making some noise in one of the most fruitful recruiting centers in the country and his stock continues to rise as he finishes his junior season at the prep level.

He already has offers from schools like Oklahoma, Nebraska, and DePaul but our Reggie Rankin reports that bigger Midwest schools are beginning to take note. Notre Dame, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Michigan State and Northwestern are now showing serious interest in the forward. Here's Rankin with more on Cunningham's game and why schools are paying more attention.

Reggie Rankin
Cunningham attracting more eyes
"Cunningham is a blue-collar forward who plays hard on both ends of the floor. He makes his living by running the floor on the break, where he finishes above the rim with power. He's also extremely effective on the glass, especially on the offensive end, and shooting from the mid-range areas. Cunningham is a multiple-position defender as well with the ability to deny access to the basket not only from the lane but also the perimeter. With excellent upside, Cunningham is on the rise and is definitely one to watch."
