Oregon's goal with Artis
By Joe Kaiser
Freshman point guard Dominic Artis is expected to play Thursday in Oregon's final home game of the season, a battle with in-state rival Oregon State. In Artis' absence, the Ducks have struggled taking care of the ball and dropped four of nine games. As far as the Ducks are concerned, Artis' return to the court couldn't come at a better time, but it's what he does in the weeks ahead that are even more important.
Artis may not make much of an impact in his first game back tomorrow night -- that remains to be seen. But there's a decent chance that his minutes will be quite limited as he works his way back from a left foot injury.
Altman reiterated, writes Adam Jude of The Oregonian, that Artis will be eased back into the rotation, with the goal being to have him 100 percent healthy for the Pac-12 tournament starting March 13.
