What Jackson-Cartwright adds to Arizona

By Joe Kaiser

Sunday's pledge of 2014 point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (Los Angeles/Loyola) gives Arizona yet another talented player set to join the roster in the coming years. What can Wildcats fans expect out of the crafty 5-foot-8 playmaker in his days in Tucson?

Jackson-Cartwright, ESPN's No. 30 ranked in his class, will enter the program when Duquesne transfer T.J. McConnell is a senior in 2014-15. That figures to be one great competition for the starting point guard spot, and no matter who starts Wildcats coach Sean Miller will have two very capable players to run the offense.

Though it remains to be seen who else will be on the Arizona roster by the time Jackson-Cartwright is on campus, Recruiting Nation's Joel Francisco writes that the young point guard has all the intangibles to be a impact player from the minute he steps on the court in Tucson.

Joel Francisco
The Wildcats landed a good one
"Jackson-Cartwright is a tad on the small side, but his skill, savvy and basketball IQ are off the charts. The sneaky-quick lead guard dissects and unravels double-teams at will, and his vision is impeccable. His pull-up game has improved immensely in the past year, as have his mid-range skills on runners and floaters. Defensively, he has active hands and long arms for someone his size. Overall, Jackson-Cartwright is what is known as a true point guard. He's a gifted floor general who will manage the game, get his teammates involved and exhibit a number of mind-blowing sequences that will leave the Arizona faithful shaking their heads in disbelief. "
