Joel Embiid's high upside

By Nic Reiner

Joel Embiid (Gainesville/The Rock School), ESPN's No. 28 recruit in 2013, appears to be one of the most physically unique prospects in the class. At 6-foot-11 and 230-pounds, Embiid screams potential.

The Kansas commit originally from Cameroon could take a year or two to get up to speed, not unlike the way Patric Young has at Florida the past few years, but has massive upside. Though he's raw, he's aggressive and can finish at the rim. Throw in a developing mid-range game and explosion for his size and it's no wonder our Dave Telep touted Embiid as one of the most physically intriguing players from the class of 2013. Here's Telep with more.

Dave Telep
Embiid is one of 2013's most intriguing big men
"He’s got the highest risk vs. reward factor in the entire class. We were aggressive with his rating (No. 28) because of his measurable and the fact that he’s making strides with his game. The key with him is being able to max out his potential. In terms of length, shot blocking and sheer size this is the most intriguing, raw big in the class. He’ll need time but Kansas knows how to get the most out of kids like this."
