Maryland on the verge of a slide?
By Joe Kaiser
After losing at home to Florida State and on the road to Miami, Maryland's game tonight against NC State is rather monstrous.
A win instantly turns things around and has the difficult upcoming schedule feeling less daunting, but a loss? A loss would drop the Terrapins to 1-3 in ACC play with road contests against North Carolina, Duke and FSU making up three of the following four games. Yikes!
The key against the Wolfpack will not only be slowing down their high-powered offense (No. 6 in offensive efficiency per KenPom.com), but also scoring on their mediocre defense (No. 165 in defensive efficiency). Pete Volk of TestudoTimes.com notes, "If you combine the second half of the Florida State game and the first half of the Miami game, Maryland scored a total of 45 points."
