Shortly after the 2013 season ended, Kansas guard Anrio Adams revealed he would not return to Kansas for his sophomore year. Adams' decision was not surprising: a trio of guards headlined by Conner Frankamp will arrive in Lawrence this summer, and potential minutes for Adams, who did not see the floor often his first season, would be slim. Adams briefly publicly flirted with returning to KU (we imagine the coaching staff's reception to this overture was presumably cold) and Adams has since updated a transfer list.

The loss of Eli Carter, Jerome Seagears, and Shane Rector left new Rutgers coach Eddie Jordan in a bind. His backcourt had been severely depleted, and it was unclear how the Scarlet Knights would compete without any depth. Jordan recently spoke with Jerry Carino of NJHoopsHaven.com and provided an update on how he plans to use Myles Mack and D'Von Campbell, the two remaining guards on the roster.

Grantham reclassifying

We have written extensively about Donte Grantham, a 6-foot-8 forward who, somehow, remained uncommitted throughout the spring and was arguably the best remaining prospect available. Grantham, who was the top player in West Virginia, was being courted by a handful of high-major programs, and as ESPN's Adam Finkelstein recently reported, he was close to committing to West Virginia or VCU before narrowing his list to WVU, George Mason, or Marshall. Finkelstein notes Grantham decided to take one more trek through the grassroots scene -- a unique decision, considering most seniors have either decided on a college, or made their choice to go the junior college or post-grad route.

Intrigue growing for Barton

Maryland's pursuit of Antonio Barton could be paying off. The Memphis transfer visited College Park over the weekend, and called the experience "tremendous".

That doesn't mean he has committed to the Terrapins, but it's certainly a good sign for the program. Don Markus of the Baltimore Sun expects Barton to make a decision "very soon" -- potentially another good sign for Maryland. Mark Turgeon's squad could certainly use an established backcourt weapon with NCAA Tournament experience to step in right away and provide some leadership at the moment. That would help ease incoming freshman Roddy Peters into the college game while also allowing Seth Allen to slide over and play more shooting guard.

Before Jim Les was fired, Remy Abell was set to become a member of the Bradley basketball team. However, he ultimately reopened his recruitment and quickly chose Indiana, but after two seasons where Abell showcased his defensive skill-set and potential as a consistent perimeter option, Abell decided to transfer and will spend his final two seasons of eligibility at Xavier. As Scout's Rick Broering confirms, Abell will not take the floor until the 2014-15 season, so we wonder how Abell will impact the squad at that time.

IU the fav for Pinson?

Late last month, Theo Pinson confirmed to Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com that he wanted to cut his college list by the end of the next month. Coveted for the match-up problems he causes on the court, and also for the combination of offensive skill and athleticism, Pinson was being courted by a bevy of high-major schools, but it was recently confirmed by ESPN's Dave Telep that Pinson will make his college choice next week. Of the five finalists for Pinson -- North Carolina, Duke, Indiana, Georgetown, and Louisville -- it appears to us that one is standing out most for the 6-foot-6 wing.

Status of Wilcox's foot

C.J. Wilcox suffered a stress fracture in his foot the majority of last season, and while coach Lorenzo Romar recently confirmed the wing -- who returned for his final season of eligibility -- wasn't completely healed, he confirmed that Wilcox was close to 100 percent. However, Wilcox recently had to undergo surgery to stabilize a portion of his foot and relieve pressure; while Percy Allen of the Seattle Times reports Wilcox will be ready for the season opener, we have to wonder how the Huskies will compete should the wing not heal in time, or potentially suffer a setback.

On paper, Jerami Grant's 2012-13 numbers look pretty pedestrian: 3.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in just over 14 minutes per game. But there's plenty of reason to expect big things from the talented forward heading into 2013-14.

This week's addition of Andrew Wiggins is clearly monumental for Kansas. He has the pedigree to do great things and is expected to change the entire landscape of the 2013-14 season if all goes according to plan. The moment he committed to the Jayhawks, they immediately became a top team to watch very closely.

A quick look at Chad Ford's latest big board shows three guys who could play point guard at the next level among the top nine. As we discussed yesterday, Louisville has quite a few factors working in its favor right now. The Cardinals just cut down the nets to end the 2012-13 campaign, return some very key pieces from that championship run and are adding an impressive crop of recruits to the mix. Also, pretty much everything Rick Pitino touches turns to gold right now.
