It was a rough week for the Orange. First came the shocking home setback Wednesday against a Boston College team that ranks near the cellar of the ACC, followed by a last-second loss Saturday to Duke that was overshadowed by Jim Boeheim’s on-court explosion in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Syracuse went from No. 1 and a 25-0 season to a plethora of skepticism within a four-day span. There’s no shame in losing on the road to Duke, but back-to-back setbacks for a team that hadn’t lost yet this season was cause for concern.
And the path ahead isn't exactly smooth, either. Next up are three road contests among the Orange's four remaining games, starting Monday night in College Park against Maryland and Saturday in Charlottesville against Virginia, which is on an 11-game winning streak. The regular-season slate will conclude in Tallahassee against a Florida State team that will be playing for its NCAA tournament life and just got done knocking off Pittsburgh at Peterson Events Center.
The Orange could lose their swagger -- and their shot at the ACC regular-season title.
