A year ago at this time, we were wondering whether Kentucky could repeat as national champion behind its latest top-ranked freshman Nerlens Noel; who would emerge as the Wooden Award winner; and whether NC State could challenge Duke and North Carolina for the ACC title.

What are the biggest questions as we enter the 2013-14 season? Here are my top eight:

1. Will Kansas forward Andrew Wiggins and the other top freshmen live up to the hype?

This freshman class has been built up for the past year as being full of one-and-done guys, but now it’s time for these top recruits to show whether their production can match their potential. Leading the way is long and athletic Kansas frosh Andrew Wiggins, who litters the covers of magazines, has been tabbed as the Preseason National Player of the Year by at least one publication and is the front-runner to be taken No. 1 in the 2014 NBA draft.
