In case you hadn’t heard, the 2014 NBA draft will be loaded. About 10 guys who returned to school last season (e.g., Marcus Smart, Mitch McGary, Doug McDermott, Willie Cauley-Stein) could have been first-rounders, but it’s the freshman class that has the draft pegged as one of the best in seasons.

While some NBA executives were dreading the possibility of having the No. 1 pick in June, they are salivating at the possibility of having a lottery pick in June 2014. Much of their anticipation centers on a deep, talented crop of college freshmen that includes more than just Andrew Wiggins.
