MSU OC set to interview with NFL team

By Brent Sobleski

The NFL is interested in Michigan State offensive coordinator Dan Roushar. Roushar will reportedly interview with a NFL team later this week.

Roushar is among three candidates that will interview to become the New Orleans Saints' running backs coach according to Larry Holder of Nola.com.

If Roushar were offered and accepted the position, Michigan State's search for a new offensive coordinator will ensue. Michigan State's search would almost certainly include at least one or two internal candidates.  Roushar was promoted to offensive coordinator after previously serving as the team's offensive line coach. A similar transition could take place if he were to leave.

Matt Staten is Michigan State's current offensive line coach. He's been on Mark Dantonio's staff all seven seasons in East Lansing after being a part of the staff at Cincinnati. Dave Warner is another staple of the Spartans' staff having coached the team's quarterbacks during Dantonio's tenure. These two would be the most likely replacements for Roushar.
