Will Harden play in the All-Star Game?

By Joe Kaiser

Houston's All-Star guard James Harden missed Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers as he continues to recover from a bruised left knee and sprained ankle, but will that keep him out of the All-Star Game that Houston is hosting over the weekend?

Harden is hopeful that he'll be able to play, but tells Marc Berman of Fox 26 in Houston that he's more focused on the bigger picture.

"Oh yea, it's very important," Harden said of playing in the game. "I represent the Rockets. It's my first All-Star game. It's definitely important to me, but my ankle is the most important thing. We still have 27 more games left. I've got to make sure that's right for my teammates.

"The season is definitely more important. Us making the playoffs is more important. I'll ice it and get treatment on it and hopefully I'll be ready to go Sunday."

The good news here is that the 23-year-old has not only turned into a star this season, he's also proven to be durable throughout the course of his four-year NBA career. Yesterday was only the second game he's missed all season.
