Stacy Thomas down to a pair of schools
By Brent Sobleski
Kansas State and West Virginia weren't able to get four-star defensive end Stacy Thomas (Miami, Fla./Gulliver) to visit earlier this month. Thomas then decided not to sign with any program on national signing day. But his recruiting journey is nearing an end with two programs at the top of his list of schools.
"...Thomas told me he will decide between Louisville and Indiana some time next week," ESPN RecruitingNation's Derek Tyson tweeted.
Louisville may be the obvious choice in this situation due to the program's strong ties in the state of Florida. Louisville head coach Charlie Strong has continually relied on his contacts within the state to land some of his top recruits in recent years. Louisville also hadn't signed a single defensive end among this year's class. Indiana is putting together one of its best classes in years (with a strong effort regarding Florida recruits as well), but Louisville may have the edge in this late recruiting battle.
