Aron Baynes' chance for minutes
By Joe Kaiser
Both Tim Duncan (left knee) and DeJuan Blair (right knee effusion) have both been ruled out for San Antonio's game against Charlotte tonight, which could open the door for new addition Aron Baynes to see his first extended minutes.
Baynes, a 26-year-old Australian center signed last week, has played just one minute so far in his brief NBA career so it's hard to know what to expect. But teammate Tiago Splitter recently gave his take.
“The only time I played against him last summer,” Splitter tells the San Antonio Express-News. “He’s a very physical guy who can really run the court well. He’s really a presence on his own.”
Boris Diaw and Matt Bonner can also be counted on for a bigger role while Duncan and Blair are out.
