Taj Gibson a strong fantasy play tonight?

By Joe Kaiser

Taj Gibson could start for Carlos Boozer tonight, and history indicates that he could put up big numbers if that's the case.

Boozer is nursing a hamstring strain and is officially a game-time decision for tonight's game against Milwaukee, and Gibson will likely be the guy to replace Boozer in the starting lineup if the veteran is unable to play. Why's this a big deal?

If you remember back on Jan. 2 against Orlando, the Bulls needed Gibson to fill in for Joakim Noah and it resulted in one of the best performances of Gibson's career: 21 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists.

Even if Boozer starts, Gibson will still serve his role as the primary big man off the bench, so it may be worth adding Gibson to your fantasy team and rolling the dice a little bit today. This isn't an all-or-nothing type of gamble; it's an all-or-something one.
