Mo Claiborne's injury status
By Brent Sobleski
Dallas Cowboys' cornerback Morris Claiborne missed time throughout training camp with a sore knee. Claiborne isn't likely to return during the preseason, but he's taking steps to be ready for the regular season opener against the New York Giants.
"He’s making progress each and every day," Dallas head coach Jason Garrett told Carlos Mendez of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram. "It’s important that he does, that he keeps growing. We don’t anticipate him playing this weekend, but these next few days are really important for him to hopefully get back on the practice field at some point next week."
Claiborne fully expects to be in the starting lineup Sept. 8:

"Claiborne most likely will miss the final two preseason games to get ready for the Week 1 game.
'No doubt, I have no doubt,' Claiborne said when asked whether he would play against the Giants. 'I really don't care [about playing in the preseason]. I’d like to take a couple of snaps, but I have to do what the coaches want me to do.'"
