Auburn's next recruiting target at LB
By Brent Sobleski
Auburn landed its biggest commitment of the current recruiting cycle when the nation's No. 5 inside linebacker, Tre' Williams (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul's Episcopal), gave his pledge to the Tigers. Auburn now has two linebacker commitments, but the coaching staff is still searching for a third.
"With two linebackers now on board, attention will turn to Auburn (Ala.) linebacker Rashaan Evans," Justin Hokanson of AuburnSports.com wrote. "The rangy linebacker has visited Auburn several times this spring and will be back in Auburn at the end of May for Big Cat Weekend. Evans plans to narrow his choices at the end of the summer and Auburn will most certainly make the cut. Other linebackers Auburn will remain in the mix for are Buford (Ga.) four-star Korie Rogers, Liberty Co. (Ga.) four-star Raekwon McMillan, Norcross (Ga.) four-star Kevin Mouhon and Albany (Ga.) prospect Juwon Young, to name a few."
Evans is Auburn's top priority, but he's not in a hurry to commit to any program.
"I’m still open,” Evans told Greg Ostendorf of TideNation.com last month. “I probably won’t know until I take these few visits on the West Coast. I’m definitely trying to get out to UCLA, probably USC and Arizona. I’m trying to go right after my spring game on May 17th.”
