Titans targeting Freeney too?
By Tim Kavanagh
Following the completion of the NFL Draft, teams had a chance to add more rookies as undrafted free agents, and after that, it's back to targeting veteran FAs that remain unemployed. The Tennessee Titans have been aggressive in their FA pursuits this week, and one position on which they appear to be focused is defensive end. The first visitor was Israel Idonije, then John Abraham had his turn. And they may not be the only ones.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that Abraham's visit to Tennessee was primarily for the Titans to kick his tires. And the scribe believes that the Titans may do the same thing to Dwight Freeney in the coming days.
Freeney reportedly has lowered his asking price down from around $8 million per season to about half that. It remains to be seen whether Tennessee is interested at that rate, go back to one of the other veteran options or simply proceed into the 2013 campaign with their incumbent group featuring Kamerion Wimbley and Derrick Morgan.
