By September of his freshman season, Joel Stave had taken over as the starting quarterback of the Wisconsin Badgers. And he played well, averaging better than 9 yards per pass, with twice as many touchdowns (six) as interceptions (three) before his season ended with a broken collarbone against Michigan State. That doesn't mean, though that the Badgers will automatically return Stave to the starting lineup.
