What to expect from April surprises
Welcome to May, when the fantasy standings start to make some sense. We’ll also get enough answers about some of the top performers from April to make proper decisions about them. Let’s examine some of the top surprises from the month that passed and what we should do with them when natural regression takes place in May, if it does.
Charlie Blackmon, OF, Colorado Rockies: He’s tops on the Player Rater, but a quick look at home/road splits tells us that can’t continue. Blackmon is hitting .478 with all five of his home runs and 17 runs scored in 11 games at Coors Field, and .283 with little else on the road. Sell quickly. This isn’t a top-20 outfielder, let alone top-20 player, and you’ll find this out when the team has a long road trip.
