Carlos Beltran finishing strong

Texas Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland hit two home runs and knocked in five Sunday, giving him seven home runs in 41 games. Moreland figures to be the starting first baseman for the Rangers next season, but like others before him -- Chris Davis, Justin Smoak -- he's no lock for stardom. If you need help this week, Moreland should play and hit.

New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran smacked two home runs Sunday, giving him seven in 63 games. Beltran, available in 28.9 percent of ESPN standard leagues, has six multi-hit games in the past 10, and four home runs. Add him if you need some final-week help. As for 2011, he'll likely be a bit overrated, but when healthy, there is power upside.

Detroit Tigers right-hander Rick Porcello beat the Minnesota Twins Sunday with eight innings of one-run ball, inducing double-digit ground ball outs for the eighth time in nine outings. Porcello will come at a huge bargain next season, as his ERA is an unsightly 5.01, but he showed significant second-half improvement.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Shaun Marcum won his 13th game Sunday, allowing one unearned run in seven innings. Marcum, who missed all of 2009 and then became the Jays' opening day starter, has a 1.16 WHIP, among the AL leaders, and 161 strikeouts, and should improve in 2011.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Chad Billingsley fanned 13 Arizona Diamondbacks in seven innings Sunday, allowing one run and lowering his ERA to 3.61. The enigmatic Billingsley might never be the fantasy ace many expected -- he's won twice in his past 10 starts despite pitching well -- but as long as you draft him as a No. 3 pitcher, you should get value.

San Francisco Giants ace Matt Cain -- he's bettered Tim Lincecum in everything but strikeouts -- tossed a complete game three-hitter in Coors Field Sunday, allowing two runs and fanning eight. Cain, one win from tying his career best, was a 10th-round pick in ESPN average live drafts this season, but he's earned an upgrade for 2011. He's also a strong keeper.
