Box Score Bits: Hafner remains hot

June, 16, 2010

&#8226 Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner didn't do much hitting the first two months of this season, but his home run against the New York Mets on Tuesday was his fourth in the past six days. We may never see Hafner hit at an MVP level again, but with a .326 batting average in home games and renewed power, mixed league owners should become interested.

&#8226 Tribe teammate Justin Masterson regressed coming off his two-hit shutout of the Boston Red Sox last week, allowing 10 hits and seven runs Tuesday. Masterson entered the game allowing left-handers to hit .348, and lefty-hitting Ike Davis took advantage, swatting his eighth home run.
