Summer is here, and the NFL preseason games will be underway before you know it. As teams train and hold camps, let’s analyze what fantasy owners should be looking for in the next few months. Join the conversation on Twitter: #FantasySnapshot
What’s new? Well, there seem to be two major stories surrounding this franchise this spring, but only one of the issues really matters, while the other isn’t really new. First, quarterback Tom Brady has been defending himself -- needlessly, really -- against reports of his demise both as a top statistical provider and leader capable of another Super Bowl run. The Patriots are, after all, just 9-8 in playoff games since their last championship a decade ago, and they drafted eventual replacement Jimmy Garoppolo (sure they did). Brady, a consensus top-5 fantasy quarterback for more than a decade, probably misses the top 10 at that critical position in most leagues now. He finished last season as the No. 13 fantasy quarterback, behind Ben Roethlisberger and Tony Romo. Then there’s tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Danny Amendola, to a lesser degree, trying to get back to and stay on the field, but we’ve certainly been there before with these guys.
Something to prove:
