LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Never underestimate the value of a good night’s sleep.

Once the third July evaluation period (July 25-29) is over, the first thing everyone -- from the coaches to the scouts to the players -- will do is go to bed. While the college coaches are publicly singing the praises of the new recruiting rules, which allow them to work their players out this month, it takes a toll on the recruits.

Julius Randle (Dallas/Prestonwood Academy), No. 2 overall in the ESPN 100, is one of the hardest-playing kids on the circuit. His mother, Carolyn Kyles, goes as far as to compare his style of play to a freight train. The kid empties his tank all the time. Every now and then he needs a refill.
