What I learned from NBPA Top 100 camp

June, 18, 2012
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Evaluating camps is a dicey situation because not everybody fares well in that type of setting. Plenty of outstanding players have gone into big camps and come out humbled or frustrated. You have to be sure to reward greatness, but don’t overreact to average or even poor play.

In my mind, the way to approach these evaluations is like chapters in a book. Over time, you write enough chapters, you have a finished product. Unless you’re John Grisham, not every chapter is a gem.

Heading into camp there wasn’t a point guard capable of matching Andrew Harrison (Richmond, Texas/Travis). When camp ended, nothing had changed.
