If you see members of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff smiling during Tuesday's Big 12 media day session, don't be surprised if it's because of its newest commitment.
ESPN 300 athlete Louis Brown became the Longhorns' 12th pledge of the 2015 class Monday night. Ranked the nation's No. 20 athlete, Brown is expected to play defensive end in college.

"It feels great to be committed to a big-time program with a good background," said Brown. He is No. 251 in the ESPN 300 and a player ESPN scouts compare to Texas A&M defensive end Daeshon Hall because of his frame and overall measurables.
Brown chose Texas over offers from several schools, including Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Baylor -- the school he committed to in March but decommitted from in June.
Standing just under 6-foot-6 and weighing 215 pounds, Brown is a versatile athlete who has played multiple positions at Burton High School, a small school in Texas.
Brown was in attendance for Texas' "Under the Lights" camp on July 18, and he put on a show. After he left, he spoke with his family and chose to make an official commitment on Monday. What he got out of coach Charlie Strong and the coaches at the camp helped in his decision.
"The coaches can teach me football, so I can get to the next level," Brown said. "Coach Strong is one of the best defensive coaches in the nation, and at the camp, they taught me more things about playing defensive end in one day then what I learned in my years of playing football.
"[It was] just the way they run the defense and how they teach you how to be the best of your ability. I went to the camp, and I never rushed out of a three-point [stance] before. They showed me, and I did excellent."
Brown is the sixth ESPN 300 player to commit to the Longhorns, and he will join three-star Charles Omenihu as a defensive end pledge. Brown was recruited by receivers coach Les Koenning.
