By Mason Kelley
Recapping the weekend's prime-time performances from Washington's 2013 recruiting class:
Two-way star Kevin King had a late touchdown and interception to seal a win for Oakland Bishop O'Dowd.
Kevin King (Oakland, Calif./Bishop O’Dowd): Facing a fourth-and-21 late in the fourth quarter with his team trailing, King caught a pass in traffic that turned into a 32-yard touchdown. His interception on the ensuing possession helped seal a 16-13 playoff win over Lafayette (Calif.) Acalanes.
Damore’ea Stringfellow (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde): The receiver caught a 60-yard touchdown pass on Rancho Verde’s first play and added a second touchdown reception not long before halftime, leading the Mustangs past Ontario (Calif.) Chaffey, 56-6.
Troy Williams (Harbor City, Calif./Narbonne): In a game when the quarterback didn’t need to carry his team, Williams was efficient. He completed 13 of 14 passes for 161 yards and four touchdowns -- all in the first half -- during a 57-14 victory over Los Angeles Locke.
Darrell Daniels (Oakley, Calif./Freedom): During a 63-7 playoff victory over Berkeley (Calif.), the receiver had a big first half, catching five passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Lavon Coleman (Lompoc, Calif./Lompoc): The running back finished with 79 yards and two touchdowns during a 42-7 win over La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis.
Cameron Van Winkle (Snoqualmie, Wash./Mount Si): The kicker hit a 22-yard field goal to put Mount Si on the board and made all seven of his extra-point attempts in a 52-19 win over Snohomish (Wash.) Glacier Peak.
Sean Constantine (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue): Underneath the soft cast that the linebacker wears to protect his fractured forearm is a harder purple cast with a block “W” printed on it. Despite the injury, Constantine helped the nation’s second-ranked team post a 28-0 shutout during a playoff victory over Ferndale (Wash.).
