SUMNER, Wash. – Every year, at high schools across the country, there are rumors about talented transfers showing up before the start of each season.

Often, there ends up being little truth behind the talk. So, when Sumner (Wash.) coach Keith Ross heard the news that a Canadian running back might be moving to the area, he initially brushed it aside.

“You never know,” Ross said. “He’s from Canada. Who knows?”
