BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Everywhere Darrell Daniels went at the Nike World Headquarters, he took his beanie.
It didn't matter how warm it was outside during The Opening, the 6-foot-3, 211-pound receiver (Oakley, Calif./Freedom) made sure he was wearing that purple hat with a Washington "W" stitched into the front.
When asked why he wore it wherever he went, Daniels replied, "I'm just reppin' UW."
He wanted to show his excitement after giving a verbal commitment June 16.
"It's a great coaching staff, great area, great school and a great football program -- I wanted to be a part of that," he said.
Daniels was one of two future Washington receivers competing against the nation's top talent at the event, joining Damore'ea Stringfellow (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde).
The big targets -- Stringfellow is also 6-3 -- are key pieces of the Huskies' 2013 recruiting class, and both are confident they will complement each other.
"We're going to push each other to the max," Daniels said. "We want to be the best team out here, so that's what we're going to do. We're going to dominate. We're going to tear it up."
Stringfellow added, "We can make each other better. We can compete while getting better. There's a lot of ways we can go about that."
