Kendall Baker (Atlanta/Marist) made the ESPN Watch List as a defensive lineman, but he is equally talented on the offensive line. He says that blocking comes naturally to him and will play whichever side of the ball will allow him to see the field early in college.

With that in mind, Baker took in Florida State over the weekend to see what the Seminoles had to offer.

SAN ANTONIO -- Wednesday was a day off for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl teams. Instead of working out and participating in drills, the players took in visits around the city -- including a stop at the Alamodome for photo opportunities and to see their game apparel -- and used the day to recover from two days of practice.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Myles Jack (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) called it a “storybook ending.”

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound UCLA commit capped his high school career Friday with a 95-yard touchdown run, the final score in the Wolverines’ 35-3 victory over Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic in the Class 3A state championship game.

“Coach just dialed up the play, told me to run full speed,” Jack said. “I just made the most of it, read my blocks and just made it to the end zone. It’s the picture-perfect way to go out.”

Five-star defensive end Carl Lawson (Marietta, Ga./Milton) was not prepared to discuss the news Sunday that Auburn had fired head coach Gene Chizik.

One of the top pass rushers in the Southeast for the 2014 class named a top group on Friday, and it looks like South Carolina has the early lead for Bryson Allen-Williams (Ellenwood, Ga./Cedar Grove).

"Based on the offers I have today here is my top seven in order: South Carolina, Florida, UCLA, USC, Washington, Georgia Tech and Clemson," Allen-Williams said.
