The East team snuck out with a 17-14 win at the 2013 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, thanks to a touchdown pass from Eddie Printz (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter) to Ryan Switzer (Charleston, W. Va./George Washington) with six seconds remaining. But the biggest takeaway from the game was the impact made by the future Washington Huskies.
Wide receiver Darrell Daniels (Oakley, Calif./Freedom) caught a touchdown in the game, but the biggest impact he made were the big impacts he made. On a scramble by his quarterback, Daniels peeled back and leveled a pursuing East defender, sending helmets flying. Later, in punt coverage, Daniels got his hands on Switzer and threw the much smaller receiver to the turf.
“I just came out wanting to have fun and make a statement that I could be physical instead of just running around people,” Daniels said.

Lavon Hooks' list of finalists has undergone another change.
The defensive tackle from Fulton (Miss.) Northeast Mississippi Community College added two schools to his list of finalists and eliminated Miami and Arizona State. Nebraska and Auburn are now back in the running to land the four-star prospect, ranked No. 15 in the ESPN Junior College 100.
"Nebraska, the coaching staff is great," the 6-foot-4, 295-pound prospect. "I know they have a good track record with putting guys in the league. It would be a great atmosphere. They've been sold out since I don't know when."

Watch List offensive guard Viane Talamaivao (Corona, Calif./Centennial) is becoming one of the more highly recruited big men in the West region for the 2014 class, and the UCLA Bruins made quite a statement in their recruitment of the 6-foot-2, 299-pound lineman this past Saturday.
"It was my first time at the Rose Bowl," Talamaivao said, adding that it was actually his first time at any college football game. "I enjoyed it. It was crazy. The atmosphere was crazy. I was excited for the whole trip, but I didn't realize how big the rivalry was. It was kind of rowdy, man. USC fans and UCLA fans were going at it."
The teams played through some significant rain at times, but Talamaivao said that only added to the atmosphere. As a lineman, he could appreciate the wet and muddy conditions.

Trevor Walker (Mansfield, Texas/Timberview) continues to inch closer and closer to 30 offers. Early Tuesday, the three-star safety picked up an offer from Illinois, his fourth Big Ten Conference offer and his 26th overall.
“I’m happy to have it,” Walker said. “I’ve got to get to know them. I don’t know too much about them right now. They talked to my coaches and found out I was still open, and they said they were trying to get another safety.”
Walker, who also has Big Ten offers from Iowa, Indiana and Purdue, applauded Illinois for its athletic tradition and academic reputation. A 5-foot-11, 190-pound safety, Walker also has offers from Kansas State, Washington, Ole Miss, Boise State and a host of other schools. He has taken official visits to Boise State and Purdue, and he will take official visits to Kansas State on Dec. 1 and Washington on Dec. 8. Walker said Vanderbilt, Ole Miss or Arizona State will get his allotted fifth official visit.
“I have a lot of schools with great academics. That’s the best part about it,” Walker said. “When you’re in a great conference and have great academics, you can’t beat it.”

Three-star tight end Mitchell Parsons (Parker, Colo./Chaparral) and Colorado are no longer an item. At least for now.
Parsons gave the word to Colorado coaches that he planned to not only take official visits to other schools but also consider other options. Parsons has been offered by Arizona State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Northern Colorado, and California, Washington and Oklahoma have been showing interest.
“I talked to the coaches [Wednesday] before I announced everything,” said Parsons, who announced via Twitter that he no longer is committed to the Buffaloes. “Some of the stress has been lifted, but a lot of it has been put back on. My Twitter feed blew up.”
