Midway through spring practice at St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic, tight end Reilly Gibbons decided to make the move to the offensive line. Three months later, the 6-foot-6, 265-pound junior has more than a dozen offers with programs such as Nebraska, Tennessee, Missouri, South Florida and North Carolina showing heavy early interest.
For his part, Gibbons said the move wasn't difficult to make and he's happy that the switch was made.
"We really don't throw a lot in the offense so maybe I was getting two balls a game if I were lucky," Gibbons said. "I was blocking from the tight end position for Ryan [Green] anyway so it was a natural transition."

Matthew Thomas (Miami/Booker T. Washington) recently named Florida State his leader, and as he arrived Friday at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., for the Champion Gridiron Kings event, his recruitment remains unchanged.
"I am still open, but Florida State is still my leader," Thomas said. "They told me I could come in and compete for a starting job my freshman year. After them it is Alabama, Georgia, USC and Miami."
Thomas, the No. 13 prospect in the country, discussed the other four programs in his top five.

The USC staff won't be shy about going after top tailback talent in the 2013 class, and Wednesday brought another offer to a dynamic out-of-state player in Ryan Green (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg Catholic).
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Green has now received approximately 20 offers, according to his father, Vader.
Vader Green said he was informed last night that the USC coaching staff wanted to speak with the family. When the elder Green called back this morning, the USC staff was watching film of Ryan. When Vader Green called back later in the afternoon, the Trojans coaches had seen all they needed to see.

With it looking more and more like junior college tailback Kelvin York and high school fullback Jahleel Pinner will form the running back contingent of USC's 2012 recruiting class, attention could turn to several 2013 backs.
Derrick Henry (Yulee, Fla./Yulee) is likely the top back on the wish list, but he has already committed to Georgia and will likely remain in the Southeast even if he doesn't stick to his commitment to the Bulldogs.
Ryan Green (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg Catholic) should see his recruitment expand in a big way in the near future, and the USC coaches have been keeping an eye on the talented tailback. He said he grew up fan of Reggie Bush and became enamored with the USC football program. But several important family members, including his sister, have attended Florida State.
