ESPN 300 DE Jason Hatcher makes call
By Dave Hooker
After weeks of speculation involving USC, Louisville and Kentucky, ESPN 300 defensive end Jason Hatcher has made up his mind heading into signing day.
The former USC commit will sign with Kentucky, Hatcher's mom, Donna, confirmed to ESPN RecruitingNation.
“He really liked the coaches,” said Donna Hatcher. “They’re really passionate to turn things around at that program.”
Hatcher is the sixth prospect to decommit from the Trojans, joining Eddie Vanderdoes, Kylie Fitts, Sebastian LaRue, Max Redfield and Eldridge Massington.
Rated the nation’s No. 14 defensive end and No. 182 prospect in the ESPN 300, the 6-foot-2, 240-pounder will sign with the Wildcats at 3 p.m. ET tomorrow during a ceremony at Trinity High School in Louisville, Ky.
Donna Hatcher said her son liked the Kentucky’s defensive plan and the fact that it’s close to home.
Despite committing to USC earlier, the family determined that travel was a negative aspect of his commitment.
