Roundtable: Signing day predictions
By WeAreSC staff
As signing day approaches, the WeAreSC staffers give their predictions on the remaining targets on the USC wish list, including players who have visited recently.
Adoree’ Jackson (Gardena, Calif./Serra)
Garry Paskwietz: USC
Blair Angulo: USC
Johnny Curren: USC
Greg Katz: USC
Paskwietz: Jackson has kept things as close to the vest as any player in this class but he has shown a lot of consistent interest in USC during the stretch run of the recruiting process.
JuJu Smith (Long Beach, Calif./Poly)
Katz: If this guy doesn’t end up at Troy, it would be a bombshell. Would you like to tell your uncle that you don’t want to play on the college team he coaches and you have always wanted to play for?
Damien Mama (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco)
Curren: His last-second cancelation of a visit to Westwood this weekend would appear to mean that he is all but wrapped up for USC. It’s a good thing too, because the Trojans need all the help they can get along the offensive line.
Lorenzo Joe (Abilene, Texas/Cooper)
Angulo: Interest kick started when Bo Davis left Texas and joined the USC staff and Joe was assured by Trojans coach Tee Martin that he still holds a USC offer, but he probably sticks with the Longhorns.
Joshua Frazier (Springdale, Ark./Har Ber)
Curren: Frazier announced that he won’t be coming to USC on an official visit this weekend after all, so he’s undoubtedly locked up for Alabama.
Jabril Frazier (Los Angeles/Verbum Dei)
GP: USC (grayshirt)
BA: USC (grayshirt)
JC: Boise State
GK: USC (grayshirt)
Katz: The sense here is that if Frazier really wants to be a Trojan, he will be one that is asked to be a grayshirt. If he is assured that he will eventually earn a scholarship, he might have the patience to wait.
Drew Lewis (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake)
Angulo: Lewis was recruited by assistant Peter Sirmon when Sirmon was at Washington, but there has not been an offer from USC. He stays home for college.
Fred Warner (San Marcos, Calif./Mission Hills)
Angulo: A fan of USC growing up, Warner was thrilled when he picked up a scholarship offer from the Trojans, but he sticks with the commitment to BYU, his mother's alma mater.
Lamont Simmons (Jacksonville, Fla./Raines)
GP: Penn State
GK: Penn State
Curren: Simmons has developed a good relationship with Trojans coaches and he appeared to have a great time on his visit, so it wouldn’t be a surprise for him to land in L.A. USC could certainly use another cornerback in this class.
Arrion Springs (San Antonio, Texas/Roosevelt)
Katz: He’s been committed to Oregon since last summer, so why would that change? Don’t see it happening for the Trojans. Nice try, however, by Sarkisian to even get a visit.
Charles Nelson (Daytona Beach, Fla./Seabreeze)
Paskwietz: There was a lot of intrigue about the possibility of adding this elusive playmaker to the USC roster, but instead, he ends up in the Pac-12 as another weapon for the Ducks.
