Ohio State is no longer the only Big Ten team that's in on 2014 offensive tackle Marcelys Jones (Cleveland/Glenville).
Jones added an offer last week from Indiana.
“I called [Glenville assistant coach Tony Overton] and he said they wanted to offer me,” Jones said. “I talked to the [Indiana assistant] coach and he said they wanted to offer me for offensive tackle. They like the footwork, my motor, they like the run-blocking.”
Several programs, including Louisville, Ohio State and USC, had been showing significant interest in Jones, but the Hoosiers were not one of them.
“It was just really a surprise,” he said.
The majority of schools likes the two-way lineman on offense, while others will leave it up to him.
“Louisville asked me what I’d like to play,” Jones said. “I would play both.”
The Cardinals could be Jones’ next offer, and he said he thinks USC could offer in the coming weeks as well. Former Glenville lineman Aundrey Walker signed with USC in 2011.
