WeAreSC recruiting reporter Blair Angulo answers reader questions in his mailbag every Friday. Have a USC recruiting question of your own? Submit it here.
Dan (Santa Clara, Calif.): Only two spots left for the 2013 class. Who do you think takes those last two spots and when? I am hoping for [Jason] Hatcher and [Vernon] Hargreaves. What do you think?
I think you're correct in naming Hatcher and Hargreaves as the top two remaining targets for the current class. Based on necessity alone, Hatcher (defensive lineman) and Hargreaves (cornerback) would be the ideal fits. Hatcher is set to announce his decision next Friday and could very well give the Trojans their 17th commitment.
Erik (Portland, Ore.): Given the current abundance of depth in the secondary, do you think SC will (*gasp*) redshirt [Su'a] Cravens and [Max] Redfield?
Julio Arretche (Glendora, Calif.): With USC bringing in such a top notch recruiting class, what are the chances of them bringing some solid three-star recruits as preferred walk-ons? Any recruits that you know of that have the financial stability and are interested in becoming Trojans?
It's very, very early, meaning low-profile recruits still have their sights set on landing scholarship offers. We should know more after the season, when guys typically weigh their options and decide if walking on to a major college program is worth the financial sacrifice.
David (Tampa, Fla.): I know we have to have three of the 18 commits enroll early if we want to use all 18 scholarships. Who are the three that are planning on enrolling early?
The plan is for Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline quarterback Max Browne to enroll early, while Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) cornerback Chris Hawkins has also expressed interest in doing the same. Redlands (Calif.) East Valley defensive end Kylie Fitts and Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln running back Justin Davis appear to be the other candidates.
