LOS ANGELES -- The final ESPN 300 player ratings released Thursday caused a shift for USC, which now sits at No. 6 in the recruiting class rankings.
The Florida Gators, with 24 verbal commitments, ascended to the top spot, followed in order by Alabama (20), Notre Dame (23), Ohio State (21) and Texas A&M (34). USC has 14 pledges following the decommitment of ESPN 150 defensive end Kylie Fitts (Redlands, Calif./Redlands East Valley) this week.
Former Trojans commit Eddie Vanderdoes (Auburn, Calif./Placer), a newly-minted five-star prospect and No. 10 overall, leapfrogged Kenny Bigelow (Elkton, Md./Eastern Christian Academy) in the position rankings and is now the No. 1-rated defensive tackle.
