USC receiver commit Eldridge Massington (Mesquite, Texas/West Mesquite) has already endured the pain of tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, but seeing his high school football team kick off the season next week without him might be just as agonizing.

The nation's 20th-ranked receiver is in good spirits though as he continues to recover from the injury that took away his senior season.

"Recovery is great," Massington said. "I'm taking it slow. I don't really have a time table but the doctor said surgery went so well that he's scared I might come back too early."

Massington said he plans on enrolling at USC in the spring, one of eight Trojans commits with intentions to arrive on campus early.
