Former USC offensive tackle Tony Boselli was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, it was announced Thursday by the National Football Foundation.

Boselli was a two-time All-American who played left tackle for the Trojans from 1991-94. He won the 1994 Morris Trophy as the top offensive lineman in the Pac-10 and was a three-time all-conference pick who helped lead USC to three straight bowl games. Boselli also earned academic all-conference honors three times.

“Tony was not only the best football player I ever played with, I truly believe he’s one of the best -- if not the best -- offensive lineman of all time,” said Jeremy Hogue, who played on the offensive line with Boselli at USC. “If you talk to NFL guys, he’s still the measuring stick. I’ve chatted with guys like John Robinson and Ron Yary -- both of whom know as much about offensive linemen as anyone -- and they have him at the top of their lists.

“Tony had incredible size and strength, but was an unbelievable athlete with tremendous footwork and was incredibly intelligent -- which is more than just doing the right assignments, but also is important for perfecting your own technique, studying individual opponents, etc. And more than anything, Tony had that attitude on the field, very much a mean guy in between the lines, which just made him a nightmare for anyone he played against.”

The first-ever draft pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Boselli was selected as the No. 2 overall pick in 1995 and was named to five Pro Bowls in his seven seasons with the Jaguars.

Boselli was inducted into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012. He currently works as a radio analyst for Jacksonville Jaguars games and show host on AM 1010XL.
