The Pac-12 Conference has released the 2014 football schedules, and here’s a quick look at how things shape up for the Trojans:

USC starts off with an opener in the Coliseum against Fresno State, a team the Trojans soundly defeated in the Las Vegas Bowl. The Bulldogs will be without record-breaking quarterback Derek Carr and receiver Davante Adams, both of whom will be playing on Sundays next year.

The schedule makers then wasted no time in setting up an early-season test by sending USC to face Stanford. The Cardinal will return quarterback Kevin Hogan but will have some key losses to the defensive front. Regardless, Stanford is the defending conference champion and it will have revenge on its minds when the Trojans come to town.

Next comes a cross-country trip to face Boston College, a team that loses 2,000-yard rusher Andre Williams.

After that the Trojans return home for a pair of tough conference games -- first with Oregon State and then Arizona State. The Beavers will return Sean Mannion at quarterback while the Sun Devils are the reigning Pac-12 South champions and they should be strong on offense with Taylor Kelly, Jaelen Strong and D.J. Foster all returning.

A road trip to Tucson is next for a game against coach Rich Rodriguez and the Arizona Wildcats. After that comes a four-game stretch against teams that figure to be in the bottom half of the conference. First up is a home game against Colorado, then on the road in back-to-back weeks against Utah and Washington State before coming home to face Cal. The game against the Golden Bears will be held on a Thursday night, the second year in a row that the Trojans have played a home game on a Thursday.

The season-finale games are traditional matchups against rivals UCLA and Notre Dame. The Trojans will be at the Rose Bowl next fall for the game against the Bruins and a chance to snap the two-game winning streak for UCLA in the cross-town showcase. Notre Dame comes to the Coliseum for a game that is annually one of the best in college football.
