USC long held the lead for Hutchings, but a recent visit to Washington made a big impression on the nation's No. 59 recruit. He said after the visit that he would like to take longer looks at Notre Dame, Oklahoma and California as well and that his original decision to commit this summer could be pushed back. But the news on Monday is keeping in line with his original time line of an early July commitment.

It was only a week ago that Daniels was considered a prime target to end up at USC. Daniels -- the top California receiver in the ESPN 150 and No. 54 prospect in the overall rankings -- attended the USC skills camp on June 10 with the intention of giving his commitment to the Trojans, which would have given USC a pair of 6-foot-3 receiver commits if Daniels had been paired up with previously committed Eldridge Massington (Mesquite, Tex./West Mesquite) .
Things didn’t quite go smoothly for Daniels during the USC camp with many observers saying his speed -- or lack of it -- was a noticeable issue compared to other receivers at the camp. In the end, Daniels did not commit to USC that day -- or was not allowed to commit -- but the Trojans did walk away with a verbal commitment from Steven Mitchell from Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany.

“Yeah, I’m a Dawg,” he confirmed via text.

Ed (Las Cruces, N.M.): I know this is not a recruiting question, but was wondering if there were any rumors when NCAA would release findings/sanctions on Oregon? Is there any historical correlation between length of time they take and severity of sanctions? If they do come out this year, do you think it could be the tipping point for Vanderdoes? Thanks.
As USC fans well know, there is no set timetable for the NCAA on when they release any findings or any correlation to the length of the investigation and the penalties handed down. The NCAA is very random in this regard and it’s hard to predict how they will respond. With that being said, we are hearing rumblings that something is expected soon and that it will be a serious punishment. Without knowing what that punishment might be it’s hard to know how it would impact Eddie Vanderdoes. Right now Vanderdoes certainly seems to have the Ducks as his team to beat.

Prevot names favorites, sets timeline
“Honestly I had to work and I couldn’t take off,” said the No. 234 player in the country from Alief (Texas) Taylor. “Texas is still very high on my list. We didn’t make the camp this past weekend, but my uncle and I are setting something up for us and my mom to go down there.”
The speed-rushing Prevot, who is 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, expects that visit to happen within the next couple of weeks. It’s going to have to happen sooner than later considering his itch to get a decision made in the near future.

"I still want to check other schools out and see everywhere before I make my commitment," said Goodman, adding that he'll be at Washington next week, would like to visit the Florida schools after participating in Gridiron Kings, and take official visits to LSU and Nebraska.
But Goodman did say that his time spent at USC's skills position camp on Sunday helped the Trojans.

"I was amazed at first that somebody like their school -- with just 15 scholarships -- would come after me," Lobendahn said. "I was really surprised, but extremely excited."
Lobendahn said he had been in touch with the USC coaching staff before the camp, but Saturday offered a chance to see the coaches in action. The 6-foot-4, 274-pound two-way lineman called the experience "great."

Things were particularly strong at the wide receiver position. Two players came into the camp with USC offers -- Darrell Daniels (Freedom, Calif./Oakley) and Demorea Stringfellow (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde) -- while two other receiver offers were made to Steven Mitchell (Mission Hills, Calif./Alemany) and Sebastian Larue (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica). The Trojans also offered Tyree Robinson from San Diego Lincoln, an athlete who could end up at receiver.
With the commitment of Mitchell -- to go along with an earlier verbal from Eldridge Massington from Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite -- the Trojans now have two commitments at the wide receiver spot, and most recruiting projections had the Trojans taking two receivers in this class. The USC coaches confirmed with Larue that his offer was on the table -- even after the Mitchell verbal -- so that could be an indication that the Trojans might not be done at that position.

LaRue grabs an offer from a local power
"Excitement just overwhelms your body," LaRue said of the feeling of receiving an offer from USC. "It's a big thing getting that offer. Especially when you're from here -- I grew up right down the street from USC -- that's big."
LaRue adds the USC to offer to those from schools such as Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Boise State, Texas A&M and UCLA. The Trojans offered a slight twist during their camp, flipping all the wide receivers to cornerback and cornerbacks to receiver early in the day. But LaRue said his offer definitely came on the offensive side of the ball.

The 6-foot-3 dynamos had collected offers from virtually the entire Pac-12 Conference, as well as national powers such as Oklahoma and Notre Dame. On Sunday afternoon, they took another big step by receiving an offer in football from the USC Trojans after their performance at USC's one-day camp. Both players are four-star recruits, and Tyree is the No. 282 player in the country.
USC had already offered both in basketball, but getting Lane Kiffin and staff on board was a big deal for the Trojans, as there is no doubt that the twins will be playing two sports in college. They are also a package deal in every sense.

Mitchell gives Trojans WR versatility
Mitchell (5-foot-11, 176) is the No. 142-ranked player in the country and will be taking part in The Opening next month in Oregon. He’s long made clear his desire for a USC offer after having received earlier offers from top schools such as Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Washington.
“[Lane] Kiffin said ‘how would you like to be a Trojan?’ and Steven replied ‘I would love to be a Trojan, it’s been a dream of mine. If you’re offering, I’m committing,’" said Steven Mitchell Sr., Steven Mitchell's father.
