Texas Longhorns: Texas Camp 06022013

Class of 2014 linebacker Dylan Douglass (Canyon, Texas/Canyon) didn’t drive eight hours to Austin for the black Nike Longhorns cut-off. He came to work and to open some eyes on the Texas coaching staff.

“My goals were to meet all of the coaches here and get familiar with them, let them get familiar with me and let them see what I can do," he said. "I thought I made it worth the drive.”

Douglass (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) certainly passed the eyeball test.

He popped up on Texas’ radar a couple of weeks ago when Longhorns co-offensive coordinator Major Applewhite visited his school.

Class of 2014 running back Royce Caldwell gave himself two weeks to sulk.

He tore his ACL on the first day of two-a-days last season while trying to make a sharp cut and missed his entire junior year.

Texas impresses 2017 LB Dylan Moses

AUSTIN, Texas -- The eighth-grade football recruit coveted by LSU and Alabama has added a third school to the top of his list of favorites.

Following his visit for camp on Sunday, Dylan Moses (Baton Rouge, La./University Lab) said Texas is now tied with the two SEC powers for the way-too-early lead in his recruitment.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Dallas Skyline defensive end Victor Evans took the field at Texas’ camp on Sunday knowing he already had an offer, but that wasn’t good enough. He needed to prove he deserved one.

He’d heard he was undersized at 6-foot-3 and 228 pounds. Actually, he’d heard he simply wasn’t good enough to merit a Texas offer.
