After Sunday, we should have a much better sense of where Texas is going with its plans for the 2013 running backs.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound back from Pearland Dawson said he has an open-door policy when it comes to his recruiting process these days.
White went to Baylor’s junior day last month and will attend one at Texas A&M later this month. He’s also been hearing from LSU, Michigan State and Texas Tech recently and officially has offers from Tech and Baylor.
“As of right now, I don’t have any timeline,” White said. “As the offers start coming in, I’ll narrow it down.”
And what if Texas offers this weekend?
“I would take that into consideration,” he said. “That would be pretty nice. Anything is possible. Like I said, my door is open.”
Though White likes his recruiter, Major Applewhite, he hasn’t spoken with the Texas co-offensive coordinator since the coach stopped by Dawson in January. He would like to stay in-state for college, but with few offers so far he’s open to considering any program.
White ran for more than 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns for Pearland Dawson last fall. While the environment and campus of the schools he’s considering are important to him, finding the right offensive scheme is just as critical.
“I’m not one of those downhill runners; I’m more of a balanced running back,” he said. “I prefer the spread offense. I just like the way the tempo of it. That’s what we run at my school, a really fast pace.”
