Texas’ newfound interest in junior college quarterbacks hasn’t stopped at Tanner McEvoy. The Longhorns are also evaluating Garden City (Kan.) Community College quarterback Nick Marshall.

Garden City recruiting coordinator Eric Gibson confirmed to HornsNation that Texas sent an assistant coach to Garden City’s Mississippi Bowl game Sunday in Biloxi, Miss., to scout Marshall.

They picked a good game to attend. Marshall threw for 309 yards and had a 63-yard touchdown run in a 31-29 win over Copiah-Lincoln. He was surprised to see a Longhorn coach on the sidelines that afternoon.
