COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Committing to Texas has only made Deoundrei Davis (Houston/Cypress Woods) an even more coveted prospect.
The four-star linebacker hasn’t stopped hearing from big-time programs since giving UT his pledge in February.
“Bama has been knocking at the door, LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M. They’ve all been saying they’re still here,” Davis said. “Oklahoma State still has me as their No. 1 guy. There’s still a lot out there.”
But Davis is not paying attention to them. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker is too focused on staying on track to enroll early at Texas in January.
Davis, ranked No. 151 in the ESPN 300, is taking summer classes to ensure he’ll be able to graduate in December and said he’s “100 percent” committed to the Longhorns.
Still, he won’t complain about the bonus attention that committing to Texas has brought.
“It’s like Texas always says -- all the eyes of Texas are upon you,” Davis said with a chuckle. “That’s a good feeling.”
