Dontre Wilson is ready to make a decision.
The ESPN 150 athlete told HornsNation he will announce his college choice during halftime of DeSoto’s spring game on Friday night.
“I just want to get it over with,” Wilson said. “I’m tired of it.”
Wilson said he hasn’t narrowed his choices down to two schools, but Oregon and Texas have remained the clear leaders for his pledge throughout the spring.
“There’s still a lot of teams,” Wilson said. “Nobody is out of it yet.”
Another contender for the 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back has been Ohio State. Regardless of where he commits, Wilson said he still might visit Ohio State this summer.
The four-star prospect has also been considering Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma as three other teams in his top six.
During the state track meet on May 11, Wilson told HornsNation he planned to push back his announcement date because he wasn’t ready to decide.
“I thought about it. I was going to commit, but I can’t,” Wilson said at the time. “I wanted to push it back because I have to make sure it’s right for me. I was going to commit just to get the pressure off my back.”
Instead, it seems that’s exactly what he’ll do on Friday. Wilson is ranked No. 7 among athletes and 53rd overall in the ESPN 150.
