Texas No. 3 seed in Big 12 tourney

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns will be the No. 3 seed when the Big 12 opens at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, May 23.

The Longhorns will face No. 6-seed Missouri in a 7:30 p.m. game. The Longhorns will play either No. 2-seed Texas A&M or No. 7-seed Kansas on Thursday, May 26 in an elimination game at 12:30 pm or a winners’ bracket game at 7:30 pm.

In the regular season matchup, Texas dropped two of the three games against Missouri in Columbia.

The tournament will be played under a two-division, double-elimination format where the eight teams with the best league records (based on winning percentage) in regular season competition qualify for the event.

The Longhorns will be looking for their fifth tournament title, having last won in 2009.
