Daje Johnson (Plfugerville, Texas/Hendrickson), the newest Texas commit, arrived this morning for his first International Bowl practice. Johnson just joined Team USA today in Austin after wrapping up his official visit to UT last night and making his much-awaited switch.
As we reported yesterday, Santos will announce his decision on Monday. Nobody is really sure what’s going on with Cottrell, including Johnson. Here’s what Daje had to say about Texas’ weekend visitors:
On Dalton Santos: “Santos is pretty crazy. He’s wild, but he’s cool and very big. I saw his highlights yesterday, actually, and he’s really good. He’ll come up and hit you. We spent most of our time on the visit together. He’s from Texas. He told me he didn’t really want to leave the state. He said (Texas) is strong on his list. That’s all he told me. I told him to come. I hope he does.”
On Bryce Cottrell: “He’s a good guy. I feel like he’s still more Oregon because they’ve been recruiting him for eight months. But I don’t know, I can’t really read him that well. He’s more of a quieter guy.”
